Nightly Builds?

Jared Hurn
Hello,

Just curious if my patch for adding GtkStatusIcon borked the auto build process, as I don't see it. Also, if a patch is bad, would the hole php-gtk-doc site go down, or is it smart enough to keep the last successful build live?

Hi Jared,

The last successful build stays, thankfully. Something broke the process a
while back, but no idea why (no access to the server.)

As far as I can tell the docs haven't been updated in a while. Who is the point of contact for the build process?

I had to downgrade libxslt and xsltproc to get the docs to build on my box.

I'd love to help fill out the docs, but doesn't do any good if they don't get updated. 8)

So... Andrei... 8) When you get a free moment could you check out the docs and see if there are any problems?

Did any reqs for build tools change?

If they did, they did it without either of us noticing (ie none of the
requirements made by the scripts changed). I think it's more likely one of
the 'histories' screwed up somewhere along the line.

It is likely that someone updated xsltproc on the box; the docs don't
build with the latest version.

Re: Nightly Builds?

Anant Narayanan
> What version is required for building?

This works:

[theghost bin]$ ./xsltproc-old --version
Using libxml 20616, libxslt 10111 and libexslt 809
xsltproc was compiled against libxml 20616, libxslt 10111 and libexslt 809
libxslt 10111 was compiled against libxml 20616
libexslt 809 was compiled against libxml 20616

While this doesn't:

[theghost bin]$ ./xsltproc --version
Using libxml 20630, libxslt 10118 and libexslt 813
xsltproc was compiled against libxml 20630, libxslt 10118 and libexslt 813
libxslt 10118 was compiled against libxml 20630
libexslt 813 was compiled against libxml 20630

I *think* that means libxslt versions older than (and not including)
1.16 should work. 1.11 is the safest bet.

I had to downgrade to 1.1.15 for both libxslt and xsltproc on my ubuntu box to get the docs to build.

Or better yet, make the stylesheets work with later versions of
xsltproc. The latest commit fixes this, and the building should resume -
assuming of course that this was the problem in the first place :)

Re: Nightly Builds?

Andrei Zmievski
Seems that xsltproc moved from /usr/bin/ to /usr/local/bin/ on the
machine. I fixed that and now I get this:

Writing build/en/html/tutorials.installation.html for chapter
runtime error: file stylesheets/html/name_to_id.xsl line 52 element choose
Variable 'class' has not been declared.
make: *** [build/en/html/index.html] Error 10

[root@sc1 build-gtk-en]# xsltproc --version
Using libxml 20627, libxslt 10120 and libexslt 813
xsltproc was compiled against libxml 20627, libxslt 10120 and libexslt 813
libxslt 10120 was compiled against libxml 20627
libexslt 813 was compiled against libxml 20627

Any hints?

Re: Nightly Builds?

Andrei Zmievski
Okay. I kicked off 'en' build manually, it is running right now.
However, there seems to be a problem with cvsup process on that box, so
updates to the manual will not happen until that's resolved. I asked
[hidden email] people to take a look, but don't know if anyone will
volunteer..
